Since Sunday I’ve gone to sleep before 12-1 AM every single night.
This is literally the only time I’ve ever done that for two or more consecutive days in probably 15+ years.
Not surprisingly, I am really thrown off getting up in the morning and feeling tired in the evening, rather than waking up in the evening and going to sleep in the morning.
It’s not even 10 pm and...
downside of spinsterhood.
Normally public displays of affection just make me cringe. I don’t like watching kissing or romantic overtures in movies or on TV. Not because I’m prude (far, far from it) but because sometimes it’s just painful to see what I’ve never had and sometimes deep down I really would like to know what it feels like to hold hands and be kissed.
Anyway.
So this afternoon a couple...

Harry Butts.
Caller: Do you have a salesman by the name of Harry Butts? Oh, oh, I'm sorry--Larry Cutts.
Me: ..... (almost hung up--knew it was a prank call from a salesman--there is a Larry Cutts working there.)

Me: Thank you for calling [name of business], how may I direct your call?
Caller: Let me speak to Gucci, the salesman Gucci at Nissan, but he calls it Nissans.
Me: My pleasure.

working girl.
First day of work was actually really great. It was pretty busy, though it ebbed and flowed. I trained with L&T Dawn who was a vivacious black-haired woman who loves to tan (I don’t say this because she was so tan it’s obvious she lives in a tanning booth, but she herself told me she loves to tan and it’s killing her not being able to go the last few months). She can talk a...

Cured.
It’s really very strange and surreal.
I saw a picture of him earlier…my favorite picture…and it was as if I was looking at the face of a stranger. There wasn’t a twinge, a pull, or an inkling. No memories, no sighs rife with longing, not a hint of lovelorn sadness was kindled.
I had to listen to the voicemail he left me to get to another voicemail I had saved—I had...

“What do you get when you cross a Mexican with a black….African American and a Jew and a woman and what do you get? I don’t know, but I sure don’t want that person to move in next door to me!”
“HE’S GOT A GUN!!!!”
this MacGruber skit made me laugh—only because that’s what it’s like to live in the ghetto when you’re white.

Blurb.
“Violet Winspear, who calls herself a true Cockney, born within the sound of London’s Bow Bells, began inventing stories while still in school, and at fourteen began work at a book bindery. Because she realized that people need an escape from life’s harsh realities, she began writing romances. Her first Romance was published in 1961, her first Presents appeared in 1973. She is...
