First and foremost I know you are probably thinking who this is writing me. It’s “Jay” from Crystal the one with the dro, the one who was trying very hard to get up with you. Anyways I hope I ain’t bothering you by writing you the reason it took me so long to write you is because I just got a little bit of money in and bought some write outs and I was trying so hard to guess your address if you are still staying there.
Yes I got locked up back in October. I’m over here in Stateville but I will be back in Cook County July 15, 2005 when my parole is over with.
How have you been. Working still??? have you found a nigga yet or are you still single???? I hope so you are still single. I hope you would write me back. My sister and brother-in-law found this letter and gave it to me back in 2005. It was for no other reason than I love to find things people lose—grocery lists, etc. This letter was perfect—from an inmate, to a girl who knew only as “Anna (Sexy) P.” I forgot about this letter until tonight when I was going through plastic totes that had been packed up for years…
The small envelope has “THIS CORRESPONDENCE IS FROM AN INMATE OF THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS” stamped in red ink on the front. Curiosity got the better of me and I tried to look up his info by his IDOC# but he’s probably already been discharged so I won’t have any luck—or he might be a repeat offender!
And even better? My very own IDOC inmate pen pal was in Stateville at the same time. What are the odds that this letter found 4 years ago, 3 years before I knew of the vampire’s existence, would overlap his history and it’s in my possession?]
